On Jan 21st, while the Women's March was happening in Washington DC, the members of the band Lullwater and I were in Athens, GA, driving around in a van collecting old televisions on loan from friends to use on set for a new music video for the new Lullwater song, "American Glutton."
We were all disappointed to be missing out on the local march in Athens, but we were on a tight deadline. We collected thirty-four TV's from Athens friends and spent the next twenty-four hours building the set for the video at Live Wire in downtown Athens.
Working with Lullwater is always a blast, but this time our job felt urgent. Ray the base player spent his time pulling footage from Trump's inauguration plus archival news footage from various outlets, while the rest of us stacked and re-stacked the old TV's into what would become the "wall of video" for the shoot.
Live Wire was more than generous with their time, space and video projectors. Adam "Elbo" Jones showed up at the last minute and created an amazing look with mapped video projections which became the primary light source for the musicians as they played live. Chad and Kyle added some last minute muscle with their eyes on second and third camera.
