Beth Hall Thrasher’s background as an art director for television at NHK/Tokyo, CNN-Headline News/Atlanta, and CBS/San Francisco won her an Emmy Award and two Radio-Television News Directors Awards for Art Direction; her career as an interactive designer began with freelance gigs for Electronic Arts and Apple in California; and her web designs have garnered Earl Awards at the prestigious SXSW Interactive Conference and a NAPA Award for Outstanding Web Design. Beth is the founder of the Short Attention Span Film & Video Festival which toured curated programs of short films (two minutes, or shorter) internationally for more than ten years. She was the day-to-day manager of UGA’s downtown technology incubator the Athens New Media Synergy Center in the early aughts where she helped startup entrepreneurs write business plans, secure funding and grow their companies quickly. She has served on the boards of the Athens-Clarke County Economic Development Foundation, the Athens Small Business Development Task Force and Loan Review Committee, and the Thrasher’s favorite local charity, Nuçi’s Space.
